One of the virtues of the associate degree program in Science-General Option, is its educational diversity. After just two years, graduates have a variety of options. Some go on to baccalaureate degrees in any number of science-related fields. Others immediately enter a job market of growing opportunities. Some manage to both work and pursue an advanced degree.
This major is designed primarily to provide for the basic educational needs of students who want to pursue professional programs in various medically-related fields. The program provides a fundamental group of science courses of value to those who seek positions in government or industry, where such knowledge is necessary or desirable.
Graduates of the Penn State New Kensington Science-General Option program also may qualify for admission to baccalaureate programs offered throughout the Penn State system.
