Honors students are able to modify any course at Penn State New Kensington and make it into an Honors course. Starting in the sophomore year, Honors students are also able to pursue independent topics via Honors Independent Study credits.
During the first week of the semester, the student and their instructor must submit a proposal to the Honors Coordinators for either independent study or Honors Option. Please note that the Honors Option form linked below should be used to submit proposals. The form allows you to enter information and print the completed form, however you cannot save the form. It is suggested that you type the information in a text file and then copy and paste into the form. Also note that signatures must be obtained after printing the completed form.
It is recommended that these Independent Study Projects or Honors Options result in presentations at the campus's spring semester Research and Creative Exposition.
