Penn State New Kensington awards scholarship money to new and returning students who show academic promise, leadership qualities, service to the community and/or financial need. Available scholarships include the Blue and White Scholarship program, the Honors Program, Chancellor Fellowships, as well as scholarships for returning, adult, and transfer students. These funds were established by generous supporters who understand the importance of keeping a Penn State education an affordable option for our students. 

Scholarship Amount  Criteria 
Blue and White (first-year award, non-renewable) $2,000  1500 or better combined total on all three portions of the SAT (critical reading, math, and writing) 
Honors (first-year and returning award, renewable) $2,500  1650 or better combined total on all three portions of the SAT and a 3.5 or better cumulative GPA (9th, 10th, and 11th grade). Qualified students are invited to apply to the Nittany Honors Program.
Chancellor Fellowship (first-year and returning award) $1,000  Academically talented students are invited to apply. Students work with a faculty or staff member on a
well-defined project that will enhance the campus and/or surrounding area. 


How do you apply for Penn State New Kensington Scholarships?
All new and returning Penn State New Kensington students are automatically considered for any scholarships offered by the University upon their acceptance or upon completion of their annual academic grade report each spring. All students that wish to be considered for need-based scholarships must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). New students should file prior to February 15 and returning students should file prior to April 15 for maximum consideration of student financial aid.   

Need Help Searching For Scholarships?
Students interested in additional aid can apply for scholarships from outside organizations, such as church groups, community groups, etc. There are various free scholarship search services available through the Internet to help students search for scholarships that are not offered through Penn State.  Below are four links to sites that can help with the search process.
