Penn State New Kensington alumni, parents, and friends can maximize personal contributions to the college--sometimes by double or triple the amount--by taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit. It is a great way to maximize personal contributions to the University and increase the impact of your gift.

Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Most corporate procedures are very simple:
1. Request a Matching Form from your company.
2. Complete and submit the form to Penn State along with your gift.
3. Penn State will verify the completed form and return it to the company.
4. The company issues a matching gift contribution to Penn State.

Completed forms can be sent with your personal gift to:
Penn State New Kensington
Office of Development
3550 Seventh Street Road
Upper Burrell, PA 15068

    Electronic Funds Transfer
Make monthly gift payments of $10 or more by having it deducted directly from the banking or savings account of your choice. Complete a simple form to authorize Penn State to instruct your bank or savings institution to make monthly gift payments. Within two months, you will begin to see the deducted amount on your account statement (deducted the first week of each month). The deduction will continue until you choose to cancel or change the amount of your monthly gift.

Each January you will receive a gift receipt from Penn State showing the amount you've given through our EFT program during the previous calendar year. Save that receipt for tax documentation.

    Stocks and Bonds
You can donate appreciated securities to Penn State New Kensington, which is a great way to support the college while possibly providing you with significant tax benefits. Before transferring any securities to Penn State, please contact Tina Sluss at 724-334-6056.  The campus must know the name of the stock and the number of shares in advance to ensure proper identification and registration of your gift.

    Gift Planning
Gift planning allows you to make charitable gifts now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself. Planned gifts are sometimes referred to as "stop-and-think" gifts because they require some planning and, often, help from your professional advisors. Unlike cash donations, they are typically made from assets in your estate rather than disposable income, and come to fruition upon your death. The most common planned gift is a bequest in your will or living trust. Other planned gifts include:
  • Charitable gift annuity, remainder trust or lead trust
  • Retirement plan assets
  • Life insurance policies
  • Remainder interest in your home

A misconception is that planned giving is only for the "wealthy." The truth is, even people of modest means can make a difference through planned giving.

Senior Class Gifts
Graduating seniors can make lasting gifts to the college by contributing to the Senior Class Gift fund.

Faculty and Staff Contributions
Faculty and staff of Penn State New Kensington can offer their support to the future of the college by donating through payroll deduction, check or credit card. The form allows you to designate the areas that can benefit from your gift.
