Campus students, alumni invited to career days at Bryce Jordan Center
PENN STATE CAREER DAYS
11:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m., Tuesday - Friday, Sept. 11 - 14, University Park
Students and alumni encouraged to attend
Penn State's largest career fair, the annual Fall Career Days, runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 11 to 14, at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. More than 400 national and regional employers will be recruiting for internships, full-time and part-time positions in all technical and nontechnical majors.
Fall Career Days is the best opportunity for all Penn Staters, students and alumni, to meet with major state and national recruiters. Not only is this an excellent opportunity to gain employment, but it is a great learning experience and offers "real life" practice for professional presentation, interviewing and networking skills.
Jim Shields, career services coordinator at Penn State New Kensington, encourages campus students searching for internships and post-graduation employment to attend. The Fall Career Days' website is a source of information about the employers who will be in attendance, and it offers the option for students to submit their resumes online before the fair with the possibility of setting up interviews on the day of the event. The New Kensington campus is offering free transportation to the Wednesday, Sept. 12, session which is billed as Internship and Co-op Career Day. For more information, contact Shields at 724-334-6065 or email@example.com via email.
The next regional job fair for Penn State students and alumni is the Nittany Lion P.R.I.D.E. Career Event on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Hidden Valley Resort in Somerset.
The local community is invited to Penn State New Kensington’s fifth annual Alle-Kiski Job Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 4, in the campus’ Athletics Center. Co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania CareerLink of Alle-Kiski, the job fair is free to the public, as well as to Penn State students and alumni. More than 50 recruiters are expected to be available to provide career options for those beginning a career or those seeking a change in vocation.
The career events schedule for the fall concludes on Thursday, Oct. 17, with the WestPacs Job and Internship fair at the Monroeville Convention Center. Contact Shields for more on these events.
