Penn State New Kensington recognizes the need to provide students with broader perspectives on world and national views, and the need to create opportunities to be more engaged citizens in their local community.
The program's three objectives are to
  • enhance the learning environment on campus
  • increase students’ knowledge of community, national, and world events
  • encourage a lifelong daily newspaper readership habit

Students can choose from a selection of newspapers including USA Today, New York Times, and the Valley News Dispatch. All papers are provided at no cost to the students.  Newspaper distribution machines are located in Café 780, the Athletic Center lobby, and the lower lobby of the Administration building, next to the ATM.

FREE daily papers in three simple steps!
Step 1: Insert your student ID+ card
Step 2: Pull the door and take your paper!
Step 3: RECYCLE or share your paper!

The Penn State Student Newspaper Readership Program contributes to the general education goal of the University by providing a broad range of information and knowledge necessary to understand the world in which we live, and helping students acquire the skills vital to an educated citizenship.
