Penn State New Kensington Information Technology Services (NKITS) provides students, faculty, and staff with the information technology resources that are needed to support the academic mission of the University. We provide a wide variety of services, with the primary focus in the following areas:

  • Accounts (Access accounts and photo ID cards)
  • Helpdesk support for students, faculty, and staff
  • Computers (faculty, staff, and academic computer classrooms)
  • Server infrastructure
  • Network infrastructure (wired and wireless networks)
  • Media Services (audio/visual equipment)
  • Telephony
  • Technology/Security education

Our helpdesk and open computer lab is located in the basement of the Blissell Library and Computer Center building. In addition to the open computer lab, we have various computer labs available for faculty, staff, and student use when classes are not in session.


After-Hour Computer Lab Access

If you find that you need access to a computer lab while the Computer Center is closed, bring your PSU ID to the security guard at the main entrance of the Administration Building (Campus Map). If the campus security guard is not at the desk, call 724-334-6120. Your call will ring the phone at the welcome desk but will transfer to the security guard's cell phone after five rings.


Once you show the security guard your PSU ID and your identity is confirmed, you may use Conference Center B14, ITC 030, ITC 031 or ITC 032. Additionally, the Penn State New Kensington Library has weekend and evening hours (Library Hours).
